Rob was born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina on October 17, 1968. After attending Catholic grade schools in Columbia and Florence, he graduated from West Florence High School and matriculated to the University of Richmond. Rob obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of South Carolina in 1990, and his Juris Doctorate degree from the Campbell University School of Law in 1993.

He is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in both South Carolina and North Carolina, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. Rob's practice focuses primarily on civil litigation, insurance coverage matters, and alternative dispute resolution. He is a certified mediator.

Rob's wife, Leigh, is the firm's office manager. They have two daughters, Blythe, who is attending the International Baccalaureate program at Wilson High School in Florence, and Elizabeth, who will be in the International Baccalaureate program at Williams Middle School this coming fall. In his free time, Rob enjoys surfing, jogging, Gamecock sports, and attending as many concerts as his wife will allow.
